Cocoa Elite’s Newest Track Running Ambassador: Amanda Eccleston

Cocoa Elite is pleased to announce our newest member to the team of Elite Ambassadors, Amanda Eccleston.  Amanda will be joining our team as our Track Running

Amanda Eccleston is an elite mid-distance runner who competes in events ranging from the 800 meters to the 5000 meter races. She specializes in the mile/1500 and recently finished a close 4th in the 2016 US Olympic Trials 1500.  Although Amanda missed making the Olympic team by a meer .03 seconds, we have complete confidence we will see her on the 2020 team.

Amanda began running in middle school and immediately fell in love with the mile. She went on to compete at Hillsdale College for undergrad and won three National Championships in the 800, 1500, and mile her senior year. With her 5th year of eligibility, she attended the University of Michigan to pursue a degree in Public Health; while there, she anchored the NCAA National Champion DMR team and was an All-American in the 1500 at the Outdoor Championships. She was also a member of the Big Ten Championship Cross Country team in 2012.

Amanda trains under coach Mike McGuire at the University of Michigan and is sponsored by Brooks Running.

Amanda currently lives in Ann Arbor, MI with her husband Jordan and works part-time as a scientific editor for American Journal Experts. She is also excited to be working as a volunteer assistant for the University of Michigan women’s track and cross country team beginning this fall.
