Alicia Eno

Marathoner and Ultra Runner

Alicia’s passion and joy for running started many years ago.

She grew up as an only child, in the small countryside town of Munger, Michigan. Alicia started her early days of athletics competing in equestrian events of the three-day eventing. However, Alicia found she had a  greater interest in running during high school track where she competed in the 800 and the long jump. While studying psychology at Western Michigan University, she raced her first half and full marathons. This is were Alicia’s love for running was founded.  In addition, she graduated in 2002 with a Master’s in Behavioral Psychology.

After college life,  Alicia moved to Tennessee and raced many marathons in the neighboring states. Her love of the sport grew and grew and over the next 6 years, Alicia accumulated many distinctions for running.

Most noteworthy of her many accomplishments and recent highlights are:

  • A Marathon Maniacs member
    17th person to complete a marathon in every state
    sub four hour marathon in every state
    3rd US woman completing a Boston Qualifying certified marathon in every state
    completed 120 marathons to-date
    1st place in the 2017 Yuma AZ Territorial Marathon
    winner of The 2016 Sweltering Summer 8 Hr. Ultra ( MA)
    1st Place in The Empire State Marathon (NY)
    2nd place at 2016 The Lake Placid Marathon  (NY)
    3rd place at The Marquette Marathon (MI).

The racing culture in Massachusetts was Alicia’s primary reason for moving to this area.

In addition to running, she is a full time Behavior Analyst.  Another passion of Alicia’s is working with Autistic children.  She now finds a balance between her two loves, helping others and running. Furthermore, Alicia is active in her local running club, The Central Mass Striders and competes on the Women’s team of the USATF-NE circuit.

Alicia is also a long time vegetarian.  Consequently, Alicia’s energy effectiveness is one of her highest focuses with an emphasis on health and wellness.   Finally, Alicia races globally, nationally, regionally and locally.  In addition, she competes in distances ranging from 5k’s to Ultra-marathons and is coached by  Michael Crouch- McKridy Training.

When Alicia isn’t running, planning to run or traveling to her events, she enjoys horseback riding and reading about the psychology of sports performance and vegetarian sports nutrition.
