Jennifer was born, raised and still resides in Georgia. During high school, Jennifer was active in the theater and all forms of dance. Her passion and love of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe, carried on throughout her college days. She even performed as a butterfly in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics Games in Atlanta. This lead to her first tattoo, a butterfly!
After college, Jennifer wed her husband and has been married over 14 years. It wasn’t until her son was 5 that Jennifer decided it was time to quit using the excuse “I’ve just had a baby” and get fit (again)!
She joined the local YMCA and participated in Bodypump, RPM (spin class), Yoga, and Step classes.
Then, in 2010, Jennifer decided to try running.
She signed up for the locally famous Country’s Midnight Express 5K. This race sparked the running fire!
Since then, Jennifer has run numerous 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, and marathon relays. She prefers running relay marathons because of the team orientation. As a team captain of the Sole Sisters, Jennifer uses her creativity by developing the themes for their races.
Sole Sisters is comprised of 3 other girls who also have a passion for running and teammate comradery. Some of their race themes include the Ladies of the 80’s, Under Construction (all team members had some type of surgery prior to racing), and Team R.I.O.T (running is our therapy).
When not running, Jennifer enjoys being in the sun on the river or at the beach, watching college football (Go Dawgs!), being with her family, and Sunday afternoon naps!
