Lauren Wentz


Lauren is a native of Pittsburgh, PA.  As a child, she fell in love with running and enjoyed playing various sports as a teenager.

While attending college at Virginia Tech for Exercise Science, Lauren became a personal trainer.


She also started training to compete in half-marathon and marathon distance events.  Her summers during college were spent working in Anchorage, Alaska.  Lauren also completed her first marathon while there.

After graduating from Virginia Tech, she went to Physical Therapy school at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA.  Lauren continued her marathon competitions and picked up the sport of Crossfit. As a Crossfit athlete, Lauren also holds her Crossfit Level 1 certification. Additionally, she coached at Crossfit Pittsburgh for 2 years.

After graduating from Physical Therapy school, she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Lauren practiced in sports medicine and pediatrics, her two loves.  After treating triathletes, she was bitten by the triathlete bug.  As a result, Lauren has been working on her swimming technique and trains under coach, Drew Sapp.


Lauren is also a certified Yoga instructor and teaches at Yoga on Main in Butler PA.


Currently, Lauren works at Allegheny Health Networks as a Physical Therapist. Lauren ran her second Boston Marathon with one of her mobility-impairment MS patients. This inspiring opportunity and experience gave Lauren a new desire.  Lauren has decided to go back to school in the Fall of 2017.  She plans to obtain her Masters in Adaptive Physical Activity.  Lauren’s goal is to work with mobility impaired/Paralympic athletes.


When she in’t working or training, Lauren likes to spend time with family, friends and her dog Stella.
