Matt Mauclair

Triathlete - Ironman

” … fall in love with people’s passion.  The way their eyes light up when they talk about the thing they love and the way they fill with light.

Whether it be life in general, or pushing the limits in sport, Matt Mauclair tries to embody the passion of the process as much as the reward.

Since he was a toddler, Matt found himself with either a basketball or football in his hands. He became a triathlete to keep his competitive spirits healthy following his collegiate athletics days.

His first season of sprint races, captured his heart and fueled his passion and interest in the sport.  In 2003, Matt finished his first long distance triathlon at Ironman Lake Placid.  Since that time, he has completed 18 total Ironman finishes at various races across the country. In 2010 Matt competed in the prestigious Ironman World Championshipin Kona, Hawaii. He repeated his visit to the World Championship again in 2014.
After 12 years in the sport, Matt wanted to give back to others what this amazing sport has given to him.  He founded Trust The Plan Coaching (TTPC) in 2012, and is a certified USA Triathlon Level 1 coach.

In 2015, Matt completed the GORUCK  Challenge. That’s Matt in the background with his signature arms in the air.

His overwhelming theme for TTPC is BALANCE.  As Matt puts it, “It really takes a village to raise a triathlete – you never, ever cross the finish by yourself – you always bring across all the people who have helped you through this journey.

When Matt isn’t training someone or himself , most of his spare time is spent with his lovely wife and family.
