Specialized Wolfpack p/b Jakroo

Cycling Team

About four years ago, the team started out as Athlete Architecture Women’s Cycling, tribute to friend and initial team sponsor. Team manager Kelly Barrientes decided to branch off on her own and create a new women’s cycling team in Austin, Texas. What began as a handful of category 3 and 4 racers has developed into a powerhouse all-female road cycling team.

Since then the team has experienced a successful couple of years of growth and domination by the squad, with plenty of local victories and appearances at professional level events. Rebranded as Wolfpack racing, homage to the nickname that Kelly gave her tight-knit team of friends, a squad of eight category 1 and 2 racers became a Domestic Elite team and now travels and races against the best women cyclists in the country at both USAC and UCI events. With grassroots at our core, the team is partnered with local favorite Bicycle Sport Shop, and maintains club team of prior and/or less competitive riders, or those that race other disciplines.

Although the members of the elite team are seen racing all over the country these days, you can find at least some of them at the Driveway Criterium Series (Austin’s famed and fantastic weeknight crit series) just about every week. In 2019, the team is competing as a D1 team in the USACrits series.

Not only are these women dedicated and talented athletes, but they also manage to balance life, work, school, and family with their training and racing. Business women, scientists, students, and teachers, some of whom are also mothers, comprise the team.

The Wolfpack also have women who participate in long-distance multi-day ride events, triathlons, cyclocross, and mountain biking. While the focus of the team is on road cycling, they are certainly a well-rounded group!
