Blair Teal is an elite marathon runner from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Blair attended Appalachian State University where he ran cross country and track. While attending the university and running on the team, Blair helped the school achieve great success. Some of those achievements were:
- Cross country conference champions from 2005-2008
- Track and field indoor champions from 2005-2007
- Track and field outdoor champions in 2008
- SoCon individual 10K champion in 2008
Following college, Blair jumped headfirst into his career. Presently, he is a large-loss consultant for a major insurance company. At this time, Blair also found his love for competing in marathons. To date, he has run 11 marathons with the following successful results:
- three 1st place finishes
- four 2nd place finishes
- two third place finishes
His most noteworthy race was the 2014 Twin Cities Marathon. With a finishing time of 2:18:53, Blair qualified for the Olympic Trials. Unfortunately, he experienced his first DNF due to dehydration during the Olympic Trials in Los Angeles. He now prioritizes his hydration strategy in all races.
Blair has set his sights on achieving a time of 2:15:00 for a marathon. Consequently, he is focusing on shorter distance events (half marathons, 25K, and 10 milers) to help improve his speed. Blair is focused on improving his performance despite the rigorous schedule of training and balancing a career. A true testament to his love for this sport.
Besides running, Blair enjoys riding dirt bikes, strength training, cycling, watching cycling/running, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, cooking, baking and eating good food! He especially loves Baja/Texmex and drinking craft beer. Blair currently lives with his partner Bryan and his German Shepherd, Rommel.
