Kelly grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She moved to Hilton Head Island during her high school years to train at Van der Meer Tennis Academy. She went on to play number one singles and doubles for four straight years at Davidson College.
She also began running her junior year, and led Davidson to their first ever Southern Conference championship. She continued building her athletic career as a ten time All Conference Honoree in tennis and cross country, while graduating cum laude. While at Davidson, she was awarded the Helen DeVane Carnegie Award (presented to Davidson’s most outstanding freshman) and the Rebecca A. Stimson Award (honoring the college’s top female athlete.)
After graduating, she went on to Duke University, then ranked #1 in the nation, to complete her collegiate cross country/track and field eligibility. While at Duke, she finished All-Region in cross country while the Blue Devils went on to win ACC’s, Regionals, and placed third at NCAA’s.
A few years after college, she stumbled into triathlon. She quickly rose through the amateur ranks. She qualified for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships in her debut Ironman, made the podium in her two Hawaii appearances, became a Duathlon National Age Group champion, and a Duathlon World Age Group champion. Currently a professional triathlete, Kelly finished her 2015 season with 7 wins, a 3rd place finish at Chattanooga 70.3, and set a new Ironman PR (9:23).
Now, Kelly is a certified USA Triathlon coach and owner of Fillnow Coaching. Kelly has been working with athletes of all abilities for the last five years.
She has coached a National Age Group Champion, World Championship qualifiers, and helped athletes cross their first marathon finish lines. She is passionate about helping people achieve their dreams. Kelly believes that everyone can reach their dreams through dedication and belief in themselves.
She believes life transformation begins from the inside out, and is a great addition to the Cocoa Elite Brand Ambassador team.
