Even at an early age, Kristin was fascinated with athletic performance.
She strives to push herself to achieve greater fitness in all her endeavors. Clearly, her desire to be the best she can still motivates her today. Kristin Martin grew up in Commack, New York. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.
Kristin Martin was a former NPC Figure Competitor. During 2015-2016, she competed in 4 events, taking 2nd place in all shows as an all-natural competitor.
In 2016, she decided to leave the physique stage and pursue the challenging world of Crossfit. Kristin quickly found a new passion for her fitness and strengthened her ambition to become a more well-rounded athlete. Kristin entered her first novice competition at the “Battle on the Border”event and placed second. As a result, Kristin developed the confidence to continue on her journey and strengthened her desire to reach higher fitness goals.
Building on her love for endurance sports from childhood, Kristin is also involved in obstacle course racing.
For the past 7 years, she continues to challenge herself physically in the form of obstacles and trail running. In November 2016, Kristin qualified for the 2017 OCRWC (Obstacle Course Racing World Championships), taking 4th place overall at the F.I.T Challenge. Kristin now looks forward to training and preparing for the world championship in Canada.
Kristin has also joined a charity cause with the goal of running 1,000 miles during 2017. For every mile she runs, a charity of her choice will receive $.25 per mile. She has set a goal to run a minimum of 100 miles per month to achieve her commitment to this cause. Kristin has chosen to donate to Run 10 Feed 10. This organization started in 2012 to raise money to fight hunger in America. You will also find Kristin running various charity-oriented events.
When Kristin is not training, competing or racing, you can find her in the mountains. Kristin is an avid hiker, a competent snow-boarder and has a love for the National Parks. Consequently, she has hiked, backpacked and camped in nine National Parks over the course of 11 months.
This year she will be camping in Shenandoah, Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Park, where she will be spending her time trail running and hiking.
